Location: The Admiralty Restaurant is favourably located on the bank of the Large Pond of the Catherine Park in the town of Pushkin.
Interior: The restaurant is housed in one of the towers of the Admiralty complex built in 1773 – 1775 in place of a wooden sloop shed. The stairs lead to the large, well-lit hall on the second floor that welcomes with antique pictures and antique wooden furniture. The windows present the picturesque view of the Catherine Park. The interior of the main hall is designed in the marine style. An orchestra would play music here while Empress Catherine the Great sailed on the lake. The walls of the room were hung with 166 English engravings depicting landscape parks brought by the architect of the place Vasily Neyelov from his trip to England in 1770.
Capacity of the Admiralty Restaurant is 82 seats.
Cuisine: Russian, Japanese. The specialties of the menu are: Borsch “Admiralty”, duck fillet in the orange sauce, pickled beef, pancakes with caramel sauce. A variety of fish dishes is an advantage.
Notes: Summer terrace will seat up to 30 persons. Riding in Russian “troika” carriages and sledges is provided. |
